Martin Linde

Martin Linde is a sound engineer and recording producer with international references in the field of classical and ancient music. He graduated in sound engineering in 2007 from the Audio Engineering Institute of Berlin’s University of the Arts.

In addition to numerous CD productions, live concert recordings and diverse services to music production companies / labels, he has also worked on film music projects, set up PA systems for theatre, concert hall and big band performance as well as carried out the digital remastering of analogue audiotape recordings. Some of his CD productions be awarded with the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, the International Classical Music Award or the Pasticciopreis in Radio Österreich 1.

Martin Linde has a wide experience in broadcasting through his work as a freelance sound engineer for such broadcasters as Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk and Deutschlandradio Kultur. He has worked in the recording of programmes, in the broadcasting of concerts and church services as well as live radio / television and CD productions in the music department.

A former member of the Gewandhaus Children’s Choir in Leipzig, Martin Linde’s musical training began with lessons in recorder, bassoon, horn and piano. After leaving school he played horn in a military band in Leipzig as part of his national service and there gained his first experiences in a brass band. He subsequently studied orchestral performance and music teaching at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy College of Music and Theatre in Leipzig (main instrument: horn) during which time he was also a member of the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra.

From 1994 to 2001 Martin Linde was deputy principal horn at the Anhaltische Theater in Dessau. He took part in international competitions and attended masterclasses for horn and chamber music until completing his studies with distinction in 1997. As a professional musician he has played horn for the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Leipzig Opera, the Mitteldeutsche Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Brass Radio Orchestra Leipzig as well as in chamber music and brass ensembles.

His studies for audio engineering and actual work as a audio producer / engineer to result from a succession of a vocational disability as professional hornplayer.
